Hello, I just bought a 1997 1498cc 5 door hatchback GLXi Nexia and the computer manangement fault light came on. I've tested it with that fault detector and it came SPEED SENSOR FAULT. Does someone know whats this about and where is located this sensor. Thanks a lot.

well, the tester didn't specify which speed sensor, not even the fault code number, it said just SPEED SENSOR. How many speed sensors can be? thanks
i'd be tempted to say speed sensors are only found on the abs.
Does the abs feel like its working correctly?
Was the light on the car when you got it?

I bought this car from Birmingham, and on my way to London it just came on. When I start the car everything is normal but after a while, when I accelerate suddenly or speeding, the light comes on and the engine stays accelerated at 1.7rpm. I feel so frustated cause I already paid 60 pounds for a tester and came out with that speed sensor fault and now I don't know what shall that be. Thanks
Think a trip to the steelers may be on the cards to get it properly diognosed if it abs speed sensor they should be able to pick up which one it is if not what problem is!

Soz for delay had to rush out last nite.
started at daewoo in london{west} in 2000.
when chevvy took over we became multi franchise and only topped doing them about a year ago,we still get a few coming in but we dont have scan 100 anymore.
If you still want to know, the speed sensor is at the end of the speedo cable as it enters the gearbox.
