Who Do You Use For Your Servicing/Repairs & how do you rate them.

Have seen a thread with someone commenting on how good his local dealership is. So how about we all give our views on who we use & how we rate there knowledge & customer care.

Thus enabling those who arnt happy or struggling to find a good dealer/workshop in there area?

But please bear in mind this is the individuals opinion & in no way can they be held responsible for any problems you may have!
I go to our local Ford dealership in Sheffield. Been going there for over 18 years. They're not perfect but they've always managed to sort our cars regardless of make. (have taken Peugot, Daewoo, Yugo Embarassed )

Customer care is great, like being part of the family
I use an Independant Garage called VAS in Woodbridge they can be contacted on 01394 380876. They are top notch only let down is they seem to forget to phone you to let you know your car is ready Rolling Eyes
The biggest fault with the dealer we use is that, because we have other cars to use, they don't always rush to get ours done within the time they're supposed to.
I used to take mine to Kwik-Fit when i lived in the UK i would n't take my car anywhere near a Chevrolet dealer they charge far too much for the work. I also don't recommend buying any parts for your car at halfords whenever i went there the parts were never the right size colour etc what a load of rubbish
I live in Coventry(someone has to i guess!) ,i use the "Independant Vauxhall Service centre" on the Foleshill rd, for my Leganza servicing, etc, good service at a reasonable price and they are quite knowledgable Daewoo's.
Hi i go to the renault center they are a citron peugeot specialists yes i know its french but they are in bradford on avon wilts and the parts they get are a lot less than the dealers
i go to kwik-fit in leven and a local family run garage in strathkinness. I live in north east Fife in St Andrews
I use a garage called RSG in manchester, they are great when work needs doing and it help that i have worked for them as a mechanic so i get a bit of good treatment. Whenever the car has needed work it has been done to the best of thier abilities and they like to help. In fact the car is due in there for an MOT and full service on wednesday, including cambelt change etc.
I tried getting a part once from my local daewoo/chevrolet/vauxhalll dealer and they didnt know what i was talking about even when i gave them the chassis number. I would never take my car to them if they cant even identify a part. I will soon require a service so may take it to kwik fit as i have a discount card.
QUICKFIT ALERT!!

This may be different from place to place but I have been told twice about a fault in the car that Quickfit wanted to repair urgently. Checked with local garage and the fault was non existant. Just a warning
I use Bridge garage on the Edinbourgh Road in Dumfries. They are a small garage just a couple of guys working there. They have saved me a fortune.Eg I bought a Skoda from the local main dealer.I drove the car back to Weston-s-Mare where I lived at the time.Local Skoda dealer checked the car out and told me it would fail the MOT due to Mods done on the Engine that affected the emissions. They said take it back, so I did. The Skoda Dealership said there was nothing wrong with the car, and did an emissions test showing it was fine.I wasn't sure so I took it to Bridge garage, as they tested the emissions it switched there machine of it was so high. The upshot was I got a full refund and Trading Standards was brought in and the Dealership was fined for selling a vehicle not fit for the purpose.Sorry about the Long drawn out story but it shows the value of a good garage big or small.Cheers Brian
I took my Matiz to

http://www.logixautocentre.co.uk/

Last week for a new rear window (some scrote smashed it during the night).

Excellent service, very reasonable price. Neil also looked at my notchy gear change and its much better now.

Anyone in the Sheffield/Rotherham area, give him a try.Biggrin Biggrin

the only good thing about halfords is that they are open when the proper car shops tend to be closed, I have strong feelings on this. Well cd players can be good when they have a deal.

I do my own servicing although my local 1 man garage does the major work or when i am too busy. now does anyone know how to change the cambelt on a lanos 16v?
when I was servicing my old fiesta I priced all I would need at Halfrauds, then took the list to my ford dealer. The ford dealer came in about 20% cheaper, for genuine ford parts.
