I am losing coolant from my coolant system but can't find any leaks and there is no obvious signs of water in the oil. I am totally at a loss as to where my water is going so if anyone can give me any pointers I'd appreciate it greatly.

One thing that is occurring is that I drive the car one day, leave it like 12 hours and then if I remove the expansion tank cap the system is still pressurised. Is this normal? I'd have thought the pressure would have disipated after 12 hours - does this give any clues?

My next thought was to try some leak sealer before thinking about maybe head gasket - wot do you think guys and girls?

Thanks
Does the car misfire from cold.

the water does not have to be going in to the oil to be lost, as i prosume your thinking head gasket the head gasket can go between the cylinder thus loosing water through the exhaust. you can have a simple cylinder block test to eliminate this.

Hey, the car has been very rough on starting for a few moments...as if firing on 3 cylinders!?!?
I reckon head gasket on its way out.
as the car gets warm everthing expands resulting in a better seal and no misfire.

let me know what you find.

Also stay away from that leak sealent stuff its more hassle than what its worth. you end up with blocked heater matrix and all that milakee,

Thanks for the replies guys. Does anyone have technical info - torque settings, head bolt tightning sequence etc for a 16v Nexia?
