Wow2 My Nexia has been fine until this morning. I drove down the road 100 yards, put on the brakes and the pedal went to the floor but the car didn't stop. I had to stop with the handbrake. Turned the corner and brakes came back but now the pedal is very soft and the ABS light comes on after about 30 seconds /100 yards. Braking is there but pedal is low and there is no power to it. I would welcome any suggestions please.
have you checked the fluid level.
the pedal being soft is usually due to leaking wheel cylinders, brake fluid requiring changing, abs fault.
incorrectly adjusted handbrake on rear shoes ie adjusted on cable and not the shoes, on the other hand you can over adjust the rear shoes to cause brake fluid to boil.

I don't appear to have lost much (if any) fluid but did have a warning at last mot that rear brake pipes were showing signs of corrosion. Maybe one of these has gone. I had wondered about a cylinder going, so I hope that's all it is. I had visions of ABS pump or something big. Thanks.
hi ya i have got the same problem with min i have found out that the sensier on the calipers witch goes to the abs that is what the problem take the wheel of turn the wheel to you go behind the caliper and the switch is on the back of it check the con first or replace them that what i done to mine
Well the garage have my car today so I should be able to post the outcome soon, only hope it's not too expensive!Thankyou
Car failed MOT but not on ABS as light didn't come on during test and brakes otherwise were OK. Needs 3 new brake pipes including front to rear. Also failed on emssions test of fast idle 1 & 2. Will this be difficult to sort out? I have given the garage the go ahead for the repairs and it goes in next week. Sure enough the first time I used the brakes after the test the ABS light came on and stayed on so it could be tricky but I am commited now!Tearhair
Latest development: someone has sugested to me that the servo has gone, this would make sense as that is what the brakes feel like ie. no power. Would this make the abs light come on as soon as I use them?
Please see my new posting about the horn problems.Wow2
no servo and light not connected
if it was the servo you wouldnt hav any braks at all the brak pipes ent that expensive bout 50 pound get them 2 do it then say the abs light came on after you took it out just a little li
My car is now back from the garage following MOT (new brake pipes fitted t rear and new front to rear pipes plus system bled). ABS light still comes on after using the brakes (intermittently) But most worrying thng is that if you sit at a junction with your foot on the brakes the pedal eventually sinks to the floor. I had the same problem years ago with a Triumph Herald and it was the master cylinder. Could this be the same thing. Brakes don't instill a great deal of confidence at the moment!!

Hi

If you take it into the garage it should be quite easy to check the cylinders, if not, it may well be the master cylinder.
It needs sorting, soon.
