Hi All,
Im no mechanic so I hope to get some clear information about a problem i've encounterd.
My Airco is suffering of alot of problems.
After the Pressure was back into range the technissian who relooked my car pronounced that there has been a stone through my carburettor????
As far as i can see it is of metal and how the hell can that happen?
The biggest problem is that the insurrance wont take the costs for such things. But my question is if it is possible at all and what are the odds of that?
This may not be the right thread to post this but i hope you can understand my problem.
For €700, you can do a lot of other things
Thanks in advance Alex
Firstly Hi,
A few things Airco???? maybe Air Conditioning?
carburettor????? Is this to do with your Airco/Air Conditioning????
Cound you be meaning Condensor, Compressor????
Sorry for questions just trying to get all the facts correct so that members of forum can help point you in the right direction

Hi Bodie
Sorry for the wrong information.
It is indeed the Air Conditioning and it wasn't the Carburator but the Radiator.
The information i've got this far is that when there goes a rock through (either the Carburator or the radiator) the motor would be damaged enough that it wouldnt start at all!
The thing is that my car starts normally but only the air conditioning doesnt work.
Sorry for any wrong spellings cause english isnt my first language.
Now when a dealer gives you this information i've got serious doubts of credability.
The question is do you agree on this?
Many thanks, Alex
Aircon Radiator is up front with coolant radiator,
radiators can easily be damaged if Aircon rad is damaged the gas will escape resulting in Aircon not working and its pump will not function either so what you probably need is aircon rad & then an aircon service
Well at least thats what I think you are after
Hey Bodie Tnx for the reply
Like i Said i dont know much about cars

so im here mostly to get some information confirmed.
The thing you say is that the fluid in the radiator gets away when there is a leak in the Airco. This seems possible to me.
But then the problem would be that the radiator needs some new fluid.
The thing I heard was that the stone had gone through, witch would result from another source that my hole car woulnt start cause of a overheated motor.
So or the leak is incredable smal that it lasts for over a few months (till almost a year) to leak out.
I can imagen you dont have a straight answer on this one.
But its weird to me that my motor is still running normal after several months with this problem while i've heard that with this problem my motor would be overheated in no-time (
while my car is still working just fine).
Im trying to get as much info on this subject as i can. But for a dummy like myself it is very hard to understand when there are 2 groups who seems to be given opposite answers.
Think i will let a third party look at it and see the results of that
Thanks for your time Bodie hopefully i can post in some time another reply with the answer

Air con runs using a gas same as your fridge at home if this gets damaged you car will run with no problems whats so ever Basically meaning you air con will NOT work.
If car had a coolant leak (coolant to keep engine tempretures down)which is fluid based you would be topping up on a regular basis if not done so engine would over heat resulting in major damage to engine & a non runner!
It is the a/c condenser which is situated in front of radiator. Do you know whether he added fluro dye to system to help source/check for leaks?..
