Amongst my long list of MOT failures this year (brakes , tyres and emissions) was my horn not working. I have tested both horns and both OK. Press the horn push and the relay clicks OK. Taken out relay and tested with a meter; contacts OK. Fuse OK. Replaced corroded spade terminals (x4) on horn wiring, but only getting 6-7 volts gradually falling off accross terminals. I've tried all I can think of and am hoping someone has some ideas! Please!Tearhair
what about your earth

I have just tried the terminals with a meter and now I am confused. There are 2 horns each with a red and a green lead.
If I connect the meter accross the red and green I get nothing with the button pressed or not. If I go accross either red or green and the car chassis I get 11.8volts. I've tried disconnecting the green and connecting the horn terminal straight to the chassis (leaving the red connected) and nothing happens. I've tried averything I can think of now and nothing makes sense.
I had the same problem on my car.

Try to connect the + from accumulator directly to the horn.
Freshly back from the garage. I spent 2 days on the horn problem and the garage have now diagnosed a problem with the wiring loom. They rewired it from the relay to the horn and now it works OK.
