First I noticed the heater was blowing air at the same temperature as outside and now the air con is doing the same. The display works fine. My dealer gassed the air con but it's made no difference and now he's wondering if he should replace the heater matrix (which would probably cost more than the car's worth. Apart from that I like this car. Must be a difficult one because 20 people have read this and no one has helped me out with advice. One week later.... Heater is fixed by adding rad flush to the coolant now there's just the ac to sort...

The A?C needs to be tested for leaks this need the system to have a vacumm test with a die in the gas once the leak is found then it is easier to estimate the cost of repair the trouble is a pin prick inthe wrong place could still be costly. im in similar boat but fortunately we have an A/C service machine at work its just getting the time to do it at this time of year.
Hi. The condesers are prone to failure on the leganza. Did the place that regassed your system check it for leaks?...It is straight forward to fit and the condensers are in the £140 region to buy..

Autokool in Barlbrough, near Chesterfield sold me a condensor and receiver/dryer for around £102 including delivery. I fitted it myself (hey, all the gas had leaked out so I had nothing to lose) and had them pressure test it before refilling. Been fine since, whereas before the A/C gas would leak out after a week or two.
If you decide to do the work yourself, I've found that you don't need to remove the main radiator (though you've much better access if you do) to get the condensor in and out, and you'll get better access to the receiver unions if you remove the RH headlamp unit - it'll still be tight and you'll skin your knuckles but if it saves £150 labour then it's worth it! Oh yes, the receiver I got didn't have any studs fitted, unlike the original, and wasn't marked up for flow direction. Once you've got the old receiver off you can compare them to find the direction, and I used two bolts cut to length instead of the studs, which broke on the original.
