Sorry for delay,been away.I am on about the transfer box.I think my one has a busted chain.I've got the chance to get a 1996 one.

The transfer cases are interchangeable between the models, very rare for chain to snap as you can see the struture of it.

There are little plastic selector forks which wear on occasion.
What is the problem with your car and if you need the workshop manual have a look at the ssangyong site as you can download it from there all free

Thanks very mutch mate.The dash light's all work ok.you can hear the electric motor's operating,but no front wheel drive.
think I will obtain the other box. then repair the old one.

Have you jacked front up and checked if front drive shaft is turning? you can do this with vehicle switched off jack a front wheel up and grasp front drive shaft and try turning when not in four wheel drive should turn easily then with ignition on select 4wd high and drive shaft should become hard to turn or solid.
As the normal problem is the front hubs are vacuum operated and the problem is they stick or no vacuum. I would check this first have a look at the ssangyong site, i would say it is the second most common problem. I would guess this is more likely your problem.
