hi all,
Since i'm a proud leganza owner i wish to help other owners as well.
If you need any car part information (electric, chasis, filters etc), i will gladly help you if i can, since i use TecDoc 2008 and GM's EPC (Electronic program catalogue) for Daewoo and Opel.
for example: if you need to change a fuel pump, but don't know who manufactures them, ask and i will give you a complete list of manufacturers, their web sites, and product codes for that specific part, as well as the original GM part.
you can contact me here or on my mail aljosa.nikic@lanaco.com

wonder if you could help. im replacing a blown head gasket on the leganza. ours is the c20sed (2.0l DOHC) engine. i was wondering, seeing as i have it all apart at present, if its possible to source a tubular[/align] 4 branch exhaust manifold to replace the OE 4 into one?
so far i've found a tubular manifold for the c20xe head (Vauxhall) but this is a twelve stud fitment and the leganza is ten.
any advice on the possibility of either an alternative part or whether the c20xe may fit would be great ta

hi hesh,
sorry i couldn't reply sooner.
if i understand correctly you want to put a tubular exhaust manifold. are you upgrading to turbo?
i looked a bit in epc, and have found several info that could be helpful.
as you can see in pic1 (enlarged pic1) this is the exhaust manifold for dohc engines (SX, CDX)
there are two sets of OEM numbers for this part:
92063564, built in dohc engines 1998-2002 (see in pic1 specifications)
92062877, built in dohc engines 1998-2001 (see in pic1 specifications)
since leganza X20SED is similar to opels X20XEV and X20SE engines i looked a bit at omega's 2.0L engine and found this (pic3 -- enlarged pic3)
this exhaust manifold is 10 studs fitment. maybe that one could fit.

sorry i didnt reply sooner bud, and thanks very much for the help.
no im not putting a turbo on as this is the wife's shopping trolley and is quite quick enough as it stands.
what i am looking for is a tubular NA manifold...as i've just fitted similar to my (non turbo) skyline ..resulting in more torque lower in the rev range... something she would benefit from ..
as an asied i dont supose you would beable to locate the part number for the gasket that sits onthe side of the head ..part of the water system adjacent to cylinder 4 ...?
oh and you mention pic three? ..no pic three
ta.
hey hesh,
i made a mistake with those pics... i meant on pic2 and enlarged pic2, not 3.
regarding the gasket. the daewoo epc gives me only a picture of complete gasket sets (photo - gaskets).
gaskets
[
attachment=260]
They are divided into two sets:
Set 1 (photo gaskets-set1) has the 93742408 oem number
Set 2 (photo gaskets-set14) has the 92061971 oem number
gaskets - set1

gaskets - set14
[

But i think this is the one you mean:
Gasket thermostat...cooling system (photo Gasket - cooling system).
OEM's
part no.2 is 90411950
part no.5 is 90411954
Gasket - Cooling system
[

they are used on all daewoos as well as on vectra, astra, omega b, forntera b, calibra, zafira.....
if you want i'll find you in TecDoc manufacturers and their codes for those gaskets.
br,
sved
cheers mate.. actually the part i need is 1713-02....in pic two....its the large gasket that goes onthe side of the head....not the two smaller parts....

Hi Tonia
If it's from a leaky crankshaft seal that's spraying oil all over, some of it will find the red-hot manifold, but most will be on the ground. A leaky head gasket won't necessarily leave a drip on the floor if all the oil drizzles onto the exhaust, sizzling away immediately. Look for smoke and try to find the leak.
The oil warning light will be warning you of low pressure, this could be due to the fact that there's low amount of oil in the engine or that the oil paths are blocked, an oil change and engine flush could be the answer, but I bet that it's all linked to your burning smell.
Post your problem in a new thread in the ordinary thread section of the forum so that peeps can see your question more easily.

thanks for the surgeston, but alass still none the wiser took it back again an thay say there is no leak.an just look at me as if iam mad , i hate garages , as a women thay just look at you as if you dont no wot your on about , well i still have the problem an had a flush an oil change allready but the problem is still there , iam now left to wounder weather or not ive bin ripped of , more than once , 4 times the cars bin in , omg.
logcially if youve had the oil levels checked out and the system flushed that only leaves the sensor.....and as ive posted in here before these do give up and give readings that are incorrect. i'd change the oil pressure sensor...particularly as it s a flickering light...which is indicative ofa wiring problem? (check the earth's round the engine)
oh and the burning smell ..well if the sensors is sending the signal to the ecu that the oil pressures low, then there may be a knock on affect, though i don't know what exactly....but wiring fault?...+ flickering light + burning smell ?= shorting wires?
so ...
1) locate and check/replace the the presure sensor.
2) check the wiring tothe bilb and the switch
do each change one at a time to isolate the cause ...

Hi
Recently my leganza started stopping for no reason, i took it to a garage via the AA tow truck, the engineer advised it was something to do with the electrics, so off the car went again to a electrical car maintence company, they tested the computer and i have been advised i need a new one , the car does not start up at all so catch 22, the cost will be £250.00 for a new computer and £84.00 for them just looking at the car, and between £60.00 too 80.00 to instal the computer, well my leganza is 1990 and im not sure this is worth getting it done, or maybe time for a new car, but theres no rust the interior and bodywork is excellent, do you know if £250 is a fair price for a new petrol leganza 2000. Well hop you can help as im stuck im not that into electrics, if you cant sorry in advance for your trouble.
many thanks Ian
I have just taken the bottem out of my car to replace oil pump as i had oil light on constantley and new there was enough oil in the engine but to my suprise it wansnt the pump at all but a block oil inlet filter inside the crank which i have unblocked and car is all back together now and no oil light.

But the tappets are very noisey now.
Now are they highdrolick tappes?
if so I need to replace then can you tell me were I can get them and the cost of them.
Thanks
Simon
Ps I have been told that if I run engine at about 3000 revs for about 1min it might stop the tappet noise as the car has been sitting for about 3 years waiting for me to get round to sorting out oil light problem. Can you advise
