Our local agent made our second key unuseable. It turns the engine but it will not start. They also scratched the paintwork and did not fix the original fault on the central locking. Where around North Lincolnshire or South Yorkshire can I get it re-programmed or a replacement key without spending a lot of money? Many thanks
Jon
Hello, how did they make the second key unuseable? Is it damaged or just in need of a re-programme?

Main dealer will have to code keys to car. cannot see how they rendered one key no good though...can you elaborate?.

The car went to the dealer with a central locking problem. They took 2 hours to diagnose the problem. They ordered a part we went back the following week. We sat for 3 hours for "a 40 minute job". They could not fix the fault. We'll order another part. Come back next week. When we got home we found that the second key would not start the car. When they collected the car the following week we said about the key and sent it but they did nothing. Not even check it. They did not fix the central locking but they did manage to scratch the paint on the rear bumper. By now we are pretty angry. The following week they did not collect the car as arranged. When I rang up they said that a courtesy car was waiting for my wife as arranged by her. She went ballistic! How would she arrange a courtesy car when hers is specially adapted with hand controls for a disabled driver? She told them that they could forget all about the appointment the courtesy car and anything in the future. A local man solved the central locking problem in 20 minutes. I can only presume that as part of their fumbling incompetence they re- programmed the key that they had and forgot the other one. Hence our problem. I'm not going to give between £80 and £200 pounds to another dealer to solve the problem. A fair price is a fair price. You will understand that I will not go back to the dealer. Any thoughts? Jon
Speak to Service manager tell him about the troubles you being having with service department ask if what he is going to do to sort problem. If nothing speak to Chevy helpdesk & see what they can do.
After all a key code takes nomore than 5 minutes.
Just remember to hand them both keys when they decide to fix the problem.
If all else fail then I would be using the lines of Disability discrimination as this sounds like it could be well justified and then a trip to local Citizens Advice for help.
Sorry couldnt help but really do understand how hard it is as I have had to go down the Disability Discrimination route before when Mercedes wernt playing nice for a client of mine
