My elderly dad bought his Nexia 1.4 from a family friend about 5 years ago. It had been an import from Korea originally.
However, throughout the whole time he has had it, it gives very low mileage on a full tank. It currently stands at 140 miles per tank.
Does anyone have any idea why this would be? Garages say they don't have a clue. There is no leak at all, no smoke and everything is working fine. It is driving him nuts.
Thanks
Gavin

Thanks for getting back.
Driving round town. Automatic. CO2 has been fine.
My old metro got more out of a full tank than my dads Nexia!
Not been funny but autobox is being used in the D position & not 1 or 2?
In the Matiz ECM/ECU can be reset by pulling a 2 fuses for a short time to not sure if it can be done in the Nexia tho maybe one of our tech's can tell us. Cant imagine why it cant be but I wait to be corrected, worked on the outlaws Mondeo & Civic to.

There is no recognised reset for ecm. If the emissions are fine then perhaps your fuel gauge or sender is at fault, it would not be the first time that they have not played up.. How are you measuring your mpg?

How much fuel are you putting in Ltrs or Gallons to fuel tank capacity?
may not be a recognised reset but when the tech guys were at Ricksmanworth in the olden days lol they always suggested it for Matiz poor running.

He is putting in around £40 for 140 miles (empty to full is 140 miles). Air Con isn't always on and he usually drives in D.
It's a real puzzle, no-one can work it out.
it aint been nicked is it?
Lockable fuel filler cap?
ok lets try n work this out roughly.
£40.00 of fuel thats about 34 ltrs I think
over 140 miles which would be just shy of 19 MPG! Ouch
Now for some other useless stuff Matiz has a 35 ltr fuel tank so Nexia must have a larger tank.
So what you need to do is fill car up set odometer to Zero drive for a few days & then fill it up again remembering how many ltrs you put in & how much the fuel cost and how far you traveled and using the calculator below work out exactly what your MPG is!
MPG Calculator!
