Having taken it apart I can confirm this is not a serviceable part lol
there was a lot of corrosion carp build up on the internal contacts that activate the mechanism within the unit its self.
looks so shiny once cleaned !!!!!!! Smile
shiny is OK aslong as it works Biggrin
Hello Bodie,

i alaways wanted to see whats inside that thing. turned out to be a simple gadget really.

Now when you say "unservicable" you mean it would not be useful to take it out of place and spray with WD-40 or carp cleaner from time to time?

I think this will prolong the service life of the IAC and clean the air bathes of the air behind it.

One more thing, should the IAC have a gasket between its plate and the throttle body?

I only have a small “O” ring on the short nick of the IAC.

THX... Thankyou
spraying from time to time wont do it any harm, but decided that internal contact points are probably the main problem & these cant be reached without destroying the IAC
My Matiz had a bit of an issue with running smoothly and stalling every so often, so i removed and partially stripped the stepper unit ( not to THIS extent though) cleaned the needle and shaft with carb cleaner.
Once back together and re-fitted to the engine, the car ran so much better. I only though to do this as I once owned a Ford with a similar problem...

Spray super servisol cantact cleaner in through the small holes around the motor and turn it by hand this should remove ay gunk and not leave any residue to short the electronic components.
by the way the IAC valve on my lacetti looks nothing lke this oneWave

Hello & NO.

you can not turn the shaft in a Matiz IAC. its fixed, moves only mechanically / vertically inside the housing and will be permanently damaged once you try to twist it by force.

beside, contact cleaners will evaporate so fast it will not stay long enough to leave residues, providing that you are using the correct type.

Я регулятор холостого хода менял на Российский от ВАЗ 10-12 модели подходит к двигателям 0,8 , у нас он и стоит в три раза дешевле чем оригинал.
Before I remove and clean my IAC valve on my wife's Tizzy (which I plan to do today).... I have a couple of questions as it is a procedure I have never had to do before.

1. WHAT SIZE O RING/GASKET DO I NEED WHEN PUTTING THE VALVE BACK IN?

2. IS REDEX INJECTOR CLEANER ANY GOOD FOR CLEANING THE IAC?

Many thanks in advance Thumbsup
you wont need a new O ring if your careful

You're right, I didn't...... I used instant gasket Thumbsup
The original one had been sealed with instant gasket so I popped down to my local Halfords and get myself a tube.

The IAC itself was carboned up, so I used a soft toothbrush and some carb cleaner to freshen her up. She cleaned up quite well Biggrin
Everything went back into place and I did the ECU reset followed by the idle learn procedure.
Revs were a bit erratic at first and I thought I heard a couple of misfires but once I took her out for a 3 mile spin she seemed to settle down.
Tomorrow will be the telling thing, when my wife gets back in the driving seat !!!!!

So, fingers crossed the fuel thing is sorted....????

Next job is to tackle the cd player issue.... only coming through 1 speaker!!!Tearhair
My idle engine has high RPM

Please help me to clean the stepper motor

Thanks,
