Hi can anyone offer any advice, i have a 51 plate matix se,0.8
my sister used the car to go out , got where she was going turned it off and its not started since, i can see no spark at the plugs, i have changed the crankshaft sensor, and the coil pack but still it wont go or spark, there are no breaks in the wires on the connector block behind the battery, i have pushed the reset button under the passanger seat, checked all fuses, the pump is working fine and fuel is coming through, i think it could possibly be the immobilser, or key , and if its off any use 1 week before the car stoped all together it had a loss of power (jerking similar to misfire)whilst on the motorway, lasted about 20seconds picked up again and was fine, would be greatfull for any advice or pointers

Well if no spark then definitely an electrical problem. Sounds very much like the immobiliser.

Have you a spare key? Have you tried this?
hi just been and collected spare key and its now running again,(should have tried that first) now got a coil pack and crankshaft sensor for sale, if there of any use just would like my money back of £26 for the sensor and £38 for the pack, plus they need collecting. they are used from a brekers but at least i know they work. thanks for your help.

Try pressing the reset button again as you may switched everything off and that wasn't the cause.

Hi Is there a reset button and where is it please
Regards GFR
it is by the passenger seat just to the side black rubber cap hope it works but ive had the same thing with mine but have had no luck getting it sorted
there is no reset button! thats the fuel cut off switch that pops up in case of a accident to cut off the fuel. This sometimes gets triggered when hovering the car and hitting it with the hoover.

Thanks Mate
I sort of figured that that may be what was involved and that also cutsoff cicuit to the fuel pump but that is working just dont have any spark at the plugs
The Immo Light goes off when the ign switch is in on Pos but I have a check engine light
I have swopped out the crank shaft sensor with another matiz and the coil pack and they both work on the other car
I have just found a really good manual online of 1k odd pages so am wading through that to see if i can find an answer if i do I will let u know and u me too please
Thanks for all your help thus far
Cheers

Word-hello The same thing has happened to my Matiz. I went to work in it ok,then it wouldn't start after that.It doesn't seem to fire at all.It was towed to my local garage,it's now been there over a week. They first said it was the Crank sensor,i waited 4 days to get one from the dealers,it turned out it wasn't that, then they were positive it was the coil pack.By this time the cost of repairs was going up.That wasn't the cause either. They now say its somthing to do with the immobiliser. An electrician had a look but went away again saying he hasn't got te tools to sort it out.How daft is that? So now i've had to call around for someone who has some sort of idea how to fix it. Its coming up to 2 weeks without my car and i'm getting rather dispondant over it.I've had to pay £110 already for something that wasn't the problem. They quoted me £220 to begin with.I got my crank sensor back,so i'm selling that.
Is it worth getting another key?

don't get another key, use the spare one that came with the car, if you have that!
