Hi all, 2003 Matiz, the ignition housing has broke, so they tell me its a common problem with the Matiz at about 80,000k's, can anyone advise me on how to remove the broken housing from the steering column and install a new one, the housing and ignition switch is available from Holden Dealerships for $158.00AU, I can re-use the original ignition barrel and key????, any help would be greatly appreciated, thank-you...Patrick

Hi Patrick,
if you have the car's manual, you will find detailed instructions on how to do this job and it is an easy job if you have the right tools. you will need a hexagonal Allen key.

Hi and thank-you for your reply, I do have the manual I downloaded from the net, had a quick look through it and did not find anything on the ignition housing, will have a better look now, thanks again mate...Patrick
you need to remove the steering column housing, thats the plastic behind the steering wheel. four screws underneath then pull apart.
then on the lefthand side there is a black round ignition switch with either two screw or one grub screw and a click in to place, unscrew remove black housing dont forget to pull connector off, it is an easy repair and straigh forward to do.
thanks nelse
