Just bought our first matiz, but the air bag light is on and was looking to get it reset, which reader would do this?

The person we bought it off said she had problems at low speed sometimes stalling with an engine management light coming on then disappearing after 5-10mins so was looking at seeing if any codes were still in the system.

Which connector do i need on the reader?

cheers

hello,

there are plenty of code readers commercially available in the market and all of them will work as long as they are OBDII compliant. depends on your budget really. from what i heard these things can start at £30.00 off ebay.

now remember, this is a code reader only and not a scan tool. the latter might be much more expensive as it has more functions and complex output charts and figures. cant wait to put my hand on one of those Biggrin

now be an angel and go say hello to all the nice people here..

cheers
My cousin is an auto mechanic and he tried to put the matiz on his diagnostic machine only to find the matiz had a different connector. Looking around ive found that the matiz is a obd1 plug? Does that make sense?
the plug for OBDI & OBD II is the same design. the only difference is the number of pins inside the plug itself.

in general the OBDII readers should be able to read the faults in both type of systems.

so i cant confirm nor deny the story with your cousin. he probably knows better, since its his job Biggrin

if you are interested to learn more about OBD, i found this great site that gives some comprehensive info.

check it out here.

hope this is useful...
