The bonnet lock on my Matiz is broken. It is only being held by the clip. Does anyone know if this is an easy job to do and how much would I expect to pay for this. The year is 2004.

hi
the wire will need to be replaced. you can get a cheap wire, the kind used for bicycle brakes and will work just fine.
the problem will be following the rout of the wire. I think it goes under the fender and bumper.
listen, i have good idea. if you can get hold of the tip of the old wire, tie it to the new wire and pull the old one out, which should pull the new one in place, then just adjust the length and cut extras, tie both ends and vio-la your done installing a new wire.
if this will be too much trouble for you, then just consider leaving the old one in place and run new one around engine room and pass it through any opening in the fire wall and hook it to old latch. should work a treat.

or just take it to a garage and suggest to them the way it should be done and if they are any good, they should fix it for you.
