Hi!
I have a big problem with my 2000 Matiz 0.8.
The car died yesterday and after towing and some work I found that one of the ECM fuses were blown, the 15A. So i started troubleshooting and found out that when i remove the fuel pump relay the fuses don't blow. So I figured it had something to do with that so i measured the current and found out that the 87 pole on the relay was shorting to ground so i took a new wire from the fuel cut off switch to the relay. Now the fuel pump works and the fuses are not blown but the car refuses to start. does the wire from the relay go to anything else before the fuel cut of switch?

Great forum by the way hope someone here can help me.
ive had the same problem m8 im so fed up with it now im thinking of scraping the F ing thing
hello guys,

I cant believe that anyone is actually ready to scarp such a nice ride for such a minor issue.

"Ragoon86" note fuel pump relays only work for a few seconds to prime or when cranking. if it does not disconnect then you will need to replace the thing and you should be ready to go. dont miss with loom around the cut-off switch unnecessarily and just reset it and let it be.

if you need to test the relay off vehicle, then So for a quick test, just bridge pin 30 and 87 together together with a fused wire, connect a meter between 85 and 86 you should see battery voltage when you operate that circuit. then the relay is good.

good luck guys ...
I've already tested the relay and thats working. The pump primes when i turn the ignitionkey, what I need to know is if the wire between the fuel cut off switch and the relay feeds anything else on the way

OK - there is a fuse No. (Ef3)

Also, the fuel is not delivered if there are no reference pulses received from the CKP sensor. This prevents flooding.

do continuity test by connecting terminal 87 of fuel pump relay and terminal 1 of the fuel cut-off switch (or terminal 1 of connector C201).

lets see how that goes.. shall we?
ok if there is a fuse gone in the small box under the dash will this stop the car from firing up i may have one more go but im to big to get down there need to find a small person

NO - non of the fuses inside the box under the dash is related to fuel delivery.

its going to be something in the big box inside the motor compartment.

sometimes the connections of a rely falls inside the fuse box. so the rely is there and works good off car but not connected as it should while in the car so not working. check for rely bases.
Solved it! Turned out to be 2 problems. The loom by the starter motor were shorting to ground and the nr 3 distributor were broken-. -i know have a working Matiz again Smile
Very common for the loom to rub through near the starter motor and the little part of the loom behind the battery to break.
This might be the problem gaz has.
