hello,,
recommended oil grades for Matiz are:
SAE 5W30, SAE 10W30, SAE 15W40
meaning that 20W50 as you suggest, would be more thick and maybe suitable for a hotter area.

its OK even if you did put it in. it will do no harm, just not the correct grade. might be suitable for a larger engine.

I would be wary of using it if it is'nt a good ["Premier"] make/manufacture oil ..... the oil change schedules are every 10000 miles for our [or rather more accurately ..."wifey's"] 'Tiz.
Thats a lotta miles for a cr*ppy oil to have do its job for .... [imho]
Errr [asuming youre servicing the car] ... you are changing the filter too?... .

i wouldnt know how to change a filter! i will go to a garage and get it serviced properly

The 20/50 you refer to is probably old fashioned mineral oil more suited to classic cars from the 60s and 70s. I would check out the proper oil specs and use what the chevrolet recommend or go to a reputable shop and ask them to look up the right oil for you.
