Hi there everyone,

my first post after a week or so of browsing and picking up great tips from senior members like Teddy and n00bz0r3 (thank you both).

I have finally located a pinhole airleak in the brakes of my daughters 2000 Matiz 0.8. It is from one of the rubber seals on the front offside brake caliper.

Is there anywhere that sells the replacement brake seal kits please? I stupidly thought this would have been a £10 kit from EBay but cannot find one anywhere.

My only other option is to replace the whole caliper with a new or second hand one. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
a genuine repair kit should cure the entire matter - usually no need to replace the entire caliper unless it is severely damaged - those things would last longer than the car itself.

as for places of sale, other will be more helpful .

make sure that brakes are 100% safe before allowing the daughter to drive it once again.

good luck..
I had the calipers off my classic triumph rebuilt by this firm
http://www.biggred.co.uk

Did a nice job and not too expensive (cost me £120 for the pair including new seals and pistons (which you probably won't need) and you can be confident that they will work properly when you really need them to.
Cheers both, thanks for replying.

Am off to a breakers yard this afternoon as they have a caliper for £40 but am very tempted with the Bigred website. Would probably be easier and safer in the long term to get the two refurbished.
Quick update incase anyone else gets the same problem. Tony at Biggred was really helpful and is posting me a front brake caliper service kit for just under £28. Great tip Hillheadstrangler, hopefully thats me now sorted.
