Hey all Smile

My dad recently had a Matiz come to his work place as a part ex, and we asked permission to have and swap stuff with our Matiz, hehe we did! Alloy wheels, genuine matiz mats e.t.c! But the main thing we took was one of the key fobs. It had two but we took one! Very Happy Its the type of daewoo fob thats black in colour, has 2 small green buttons , has a green stem to hold it to a bunch of keys, has a small red LED light and 2 buttons which i beleive is, one for lock and unlock or to activate the alarm and deactivate it! And another button thats called a panic button?

Its from a 2004 Matiz SE+ , and we just took it(asked first) The question is will it work on my Matiz?? Under my Matiz's bonnet it does have an alarm, ECU e.t.c and inside it even has the small red LED light for the alarm which is under the steering colum on mine, yes i know there is a scurity one on the dash! But i aint talking about that one! Wink Mine is a 2000 W plate Matiz SE+.

P.S: When we bought the Matiz the previous old gentleman owner said it did have a daewoo fob, with 2 buttons and an led light, BUT he lost it(Misplaced it some people would state, lol) !! Hence why me and dad managed to take one from a Matiz that came in as part ex!!

So......will it be able to be programmed to my matiz or not?? And if so HOW PLEASE?? Wink
And if it cant be programed, have me and my dad wasted our time taking it??

Thank you all!!
Dan.
Hi Dan .. man,

OK I will not pretend i have any knowledge of this as my SE model does not have such features, bu managed to copy you the following from car's manual...

"Reprogramming Procedure
1. Turn the ignition OFF. Reprogramming is not allowed
while the engine is running.
2. Insert the immobilizer control unit cartridge into the
scan tool.
3. Do not start the vehicle, but turn the ignition ON.
4. Enter the four-digit password that enables service
personnel to use the scan tool for ID code reprogramming.
5. Use the scan tool to command RESET ID CODE.
6. Turn the ignition OFF and ON again, but do not
crank or start the engine. The ECM will reset the
ECM ID code to match the new ID code that was
calculated and sent by the immobilizer control unit
when the ignition was first turned ON after the reset
command.
7. Return the system to the normal mode.
8. Turn OFF the ignition.
9. Turn ON the ignition.
10. Start the engine.
After reprogramming the ID code, the scan tool SYSTEM
DIAGNOSIS command can verify that the ECM ID
code matches the immobilizer control unit ID code.
If the reprogramming procedure does not result in
matching ID codes, check the electrical connectors for
the serial data wire between the immobilizer control unit
and the ECM."

so to put it short, no you can't do this unless you have a special scan tool. so unless you can locate one in position of someone who knows about those sub-functions and stuff, then you better forget about it.

sorry I couldn't bring you any better news....

so happy for you got those other parts, though ...
Hey thanks for your reply Smile

Yes i understand totally. We would need a scan tool, okay Smile Well hopefully then my dad can ask one of his mates at work who specialises in car readers, diagnostic and can programme keys and fobs. He should be able to do it hehe Very Happy

Thank you for the instructions too....much appreciated! Smile
Cheers,
Dan.
