If your car turns over without starting. please check ECU and if code 5 3 appears the its an immobliser issue, chances are the wire has come off from the tansponder.PM if you arwondering how i worked out the code 5 3 (seprtate numbers).

This is a common problem and ppl just spend cash exhanging the ECU and the transponder,,,,,, you dont have too now
sohc head gasket stage settings

1. 25 nm or 18lb
2. 60 degrees
3. 60 degrees
4. 60 degrees

you'll need an angle wotsit i made one ala blue peter with a cornflake packet and a slot for my wrench to fit.

I posted this last year and forgot i was a member Wow2
Nexia 1.5 16Valve DOHC Adjustment after Head Gasket replacement.

Torque stage settings for cilinder head bolts, don't use the old bolts.
Always replace them with new bolts, because the old bolts could break.

1st - 25 nM = 18,5 lbs
2nd - 60 degrees
3th - 60 degrees
4th 60 degrees
Warming up the engine till about 50-60 degrees celsius- with the cap off the cooling reservoir removed, so the coolingsystem can not build up pressure, this to prevent damage too the new gasket.
5th 40 degrees.
6th check the coolant level and replace the cap.
This works fine for me.

The timing marks for the cranckshaft are located:
1st - at the ribbed belt crankshaft pulley, on the engine side is a little notch.
2nd - on the engine is a adjusting mark, witch is located on the engine, just beside the pulley on the upper right side - just about 2 'O clock.

Align these marks, and then allign the camshaft marks so that they are pointing to each other.

Now check that the timing belt is fitted correctly over the canckshaft, hold the belt tight on the right side/front side, and mount it over the guiding roller.
Then mount the belt over both the camshaft serrated wheels , be sure the belt is fitted correctly without slack and without turning the crankshaft.
Next step is to mount the belt over the tensioner roll and waterpump roll.
When it seem to be correct, release the tensioner and turn the crankshaft 2 times clockwise, now check the timing marks again.
If it's allright and the cranckshaft turns without resistance, you can built it all together.

I hope you wil find this helpfull, and you understand my dutchie EnglishBiggrin
